Passport to Other Cultures Giant’s Mini Czech Fest

On April 14th, Sarah and Craig Neuzil, founders and operators of Calmar, IA Pivo Brewery and Blepta Studios, and Craig’s mother Becky joined us as we took a deeper dive into the culture of the Czech people! They wore their regional costumes, offered Pivo samples, taught us about the culture and history of the country, shared their experiences and expertise, and answered your questions. 6:30pm–We stamped “Passport to other Cultures” and unveiled the Czech Pop-Up Exhibit in our Giants Welcome Center–which you can still visit

7:00pm–We took a seat in Immigrant Hall for a video of Czech Historian Eilene Tlusty, followed by a Travelogue with Becky Neuzil. Sarah and Craig also joined in to explain their experiences, family ties, and business!

8:00pm–We sampled kolaches (thanks Jim Gray), Vepřo Knedlo Zelo (Pork, Dumplings and Sauerkraut), and Pivo Czech-style beer while we listened to great Czech folk music and talked with our co-hosts.
