The Norwegian Ridge Birding and Nature Trail is hosting a Hygge event!
Are you trying to stay warm this winter? Would you like to be part of some great conversation? Come to a Hygge (say hYOO guh or HEU-gah) on Saturday, February 12th, anytime between 4:30pm-7:30pm at the Sugar Shack located at 17987 County 27, Spring Grove, MN. The Sugar Shack is behind Lane and Mary Zaffke’s home. Follow the signs for parking near the Sugar Shack. The Sugar Shack is just off the third loop of our trail.
What is a Hygge? It’s a way to create warmth, connection and wellbeing. It’s a feeling of belonging to the moment and to each other. It’s a family event. Hot dogs and S’mores essentials will be provided for roasting on the fire as well as hot chocolate to keep you warm. Snowshoes are provided if you want to hike the trail. There is no cost, but a free will donation will be accepted.
Hopefully it is a clear night so everyone can view the full moon. The trail loop at Zaffke’s is about one mile long – just right for new or experienced snow shoeing. For the rest, great conversation, and hygge will provide meaning to sitting around the campfire, a simple ritual that gives a feeling of belonging to the moment and to each other.
