Annual Fund Drive

Your generosity is appreciated!

As we collectively prepare our hearts and minds for the holidays, your friends at Giants of the Earth Heritage Center are reflecting on gratitude and growth. We are grateful to be an organization that has preserved and fully restored the town’s most beautiful Main St. building to the specifications of the National Historic Registry. We are thankful for our board of directors, staff, and many volunteers who give of their time, resources, and creativity so freely. We are thankful for you–members and community from near and far who support and/or utilize our resources, programming, and facility.

Many goals. Many dreams. What is the right combination?

Our realized goals and dreams have been the result of a dedicated volunteer board, staff,  and their reliance on best practices. What that really means is that we have many passionate voices doing many facets of the workload. Again, we are grateful because many successful programs have become a normal part of our operations including the Milestone Project, folk art classes, the 6th Grade Academy, Norwegian Ridge Language and Culture Camp, aiding community and visitors with genealogical research, Reminiscing with Dr. Gray, the Passport to Other Cultures series, and much more. But we have even greater vision for the time ahead, and with that a specific challenge:

In order to maintain and expand services that are as stellar as our incredible building allows for, Giants will require a stellar leader at the helm–a professional Executive Director.

The current combination needs a reset.

Our volunteer board is a diverse bunch of community loving, servant-heart, hard working individuals who give as much as they can. This can lead to burnout and fatigue.

A better model is available.

As was foretold by major non-profit coaches and friends of GEHC, our next step is to seek and hire a professional Executive Director, and give that person the budget necessary to lead us into the next phase of our destiny as a cornerstone of cultural programming, historic education and preservation.

You provide the combination for unlocking our future!

By giving what you can before year-end, we can proceed in 2024 with hiring a professional Executive Director. Under that leadership, we can embark on the next Interpretive Plan for our evolving museum space on the second and third floors; build our momentum and secure our place as cultural ambassadors for the regional (and beyond) American-Norwegian community; expand our cultural, folk arts, and youth programming efforts; continue growth of our traditional ancestry services, Bygdebok, and DNA-based genealogical archives; and maintain the historic yet modern charm and amenities of our fully-remodeled home base for years to come.
