DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendar for Saturday\, October 3rd for an unforgettable evening of traditional music\, community and dancing! Join us for a night of culture and fun at the historic Ye Olde Gray Barn during Uff Da Fest!\nPop Wagner and Eldon “Smack” Young-Walser will be providing the music. Master Dance Caller and Educator\, Julie Young will be the driving energy of the night.\nAt 6pm\, Julie will give a special educational presentation for the area youth and community.\nNo partner or previous experience is required. Julie will walk everyone through the steps before each dance begins.\nTickets available at the door: $12 for adults\, $5 for students or at Giants before October 3rd: $10 for adults\, $4 for students.\n\nEvent Schedule:6:00pm-7:00pm: Educational Presentation (15 minute intermission)7:15pm-10:00pm: Traditional Barn Dance (Includes a 20 minute halftime intermission)\n\nUff Da Uber: Spring Grove Area Chamber of Commerce\, organizer of Uff Da Fest\, is working on a free “Uff Da Uber” shuttle to go between Viking Memorial Park and Ye Olde Gray Barn

DESCRIPTION:Join us Sunday\, October 4th for Hotdish and Hotrods from 11:30am to 1:00pm hosted by the Sons of Norway Valheim Lodge of Spring Grove\, MN. There will be hotdishes to taste\, hotrods to view and music by Beth Rotto & friends starting at noon to listen to.\n\n\n\nAbout the band:\n\n\n\n\nArt Bjorngjeld and Ross Sutter bring decades of experience between them on accordion\, guitar\, & voice. Art draws on his Norwegian heritage — his ancestors played for dances all across North Dakota and Minnesota — while Ross’s repertoire carries the soul of church music and community gatherings. Together\, they mix old family tunes with new finds from their folk-music adventures. \nAnd now\, two more join the mix: Ann Streufert and Beth Hoven Rotto from Decorah\, Iowa\, long associated with the folk bands Foot-Notes and Maritza\, have been twin-fiddling for nearly 40 years — just for the love of it. Their setlist is made for both dancers and listeners\, featuring Scandinavian melodies and rediscovered Midwest classics. \nWhen these two duos come together\, sparks fly: the warm camaraderie and shared passion will make for an unforgettable evening of traditional music and dance. Expect a celebration — it will be a dance party rooted in tradition\, friendship and joy. \n\n\n\n\n\nYour are also invited to enter a hotdish. It is free to enter and there will be amazing prizes for the top three hotdishes plus bragging rights.\n\nRegister your hotdish by 8pm Saturday October 3rd. Register by stopping by Giants to fill out a paper registration form or online (https://forms.gle/2DSHw4nMpMTuDMQy5).\n\nJudging will be done by the public.Each person will get three votes. You can vote for your favorite three or put all three votes for your favorite one.For taste testing/judging\, there will be a free will donation taken at the door.
